Your Qualifications:
- Demonstrated understanding of the principles of supply chain management through a formal 4-year degree in Supply Chain Management or related disciplines; and/or prior 10 years work experience.
- APICS or other professional development certification is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years Operations and/or Supply Chain Management experience, of which at least 2 years are in Supply Chain Planning, including exposure in S&OP.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, translated into sound, tactical and strategic, business understanding.
- Good project management, coaching and relationship building abilities applied to various levels of our organization, including the executive tiers.
- Knowledge of steel mill and finishing fabricating operations and procedures.
- Competence in using a variety of ERP (e.g. SAP)
- Intermediate skills in the use of Microsoft Suite, SQL, Python, PowerBI, as well experience with Data Integration or ETL tools (Alteryx, Databricks).
- Experience in sustaining business processes and supporting organizational change is desirable.
- Ability to interpret quantitative data and communicate results clearly and concisely
Your Purpose:
You will report to the Sales & Operations Planning Manager, and your primary purpose will be to support the supply side of the Company’s Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process. A major emphasis of the position is to support collaborative planning processes to develop and implement production plans for all mill-rolled products to level out unanticipated and unscheduled production delays with minimum additional costs or interruptions to customer delivery schedules.
Your Work:
- Resolve projected supply/demand imbalances, aligning the Company’s Marketing, Sales, Production, Raw Materials and Logistics plans and identifying profit maximization opportunities.
- Define production volumes to meet customer demands and production requirements.
- Develop supply plans for all mill locations, including production and inventory targets
- Manage the monthly Supply Planning and Demand/Supply Balancing Processes - Determine exceptions/outliers that need to be escalated to Executive S&OP Meeting
- Chair the Demand/Supply Planning meeting.
- Establish and monitor finished goods inventory levels manage the aged and slow-moving inventory processes.
- Establish, monitor and conduct weekly/monthly mill meetings to review scorecard metrics (KPI’s) and act upon inventory trends, and customer satisfaction metrics with the plant production control teams.
- Work closely with Sales Teams to meet customer demands while balancing it with the production and inventory objectives.
- Accountable as primary liaison with Sales, Mill Production Control and Finance to ensure communications are maximized for items affecting customer satisfaction.
- Lead in the identification of business risks and opportunities.
- Increase supply chain visibility and drive supply chain performance improvements and participate in cross-functional teams to resolve projected supply/demand imbalances.
- Assist in constructing the business processes and systems to establish S&OP as a critical business nucleus.
- Provides analytical and technical leadership to improve the quality and timeliness of the S&OP data reporting.
- Prepare and present management reports at all levels of the organization from the Company President to individual facility leaders.
