About the Product
Default is a compound startup. If you’re not familiar with this terminology, compound startups are big, ambitious bets on opportunities that span multiple point solutions and business processes. In our case, we’re building around the customer lifecycle, starting by building a suite of tightly-integrated products around the inbound sales funnel: forms, workflows, automations, meeting scheduling, and email sequencing.
We are looking to grow the product is eager to get in early on the ground floor of a startup we hope will be the next generational go-to-market technology company, and the next contender to take on $CRM (Salesforce). We hire engineers with a broad set of technical skills, who are highly cross-functional and eager to solve a wide range of engineering challenges.
About the Role
As the latest engineer at Default, you will craft product solutions that address our fastest-growing customers’ needs. This will require Our product serves as the connective tissue between Operations, Sales, & Marketing teams. Doing it well requires empathizing with our customers, listening to their problems, understanding constraints, and getting creative about solutions.
You will drive Product, Design and Engineering roadmaps and work together with those teams to evolve Default to better serve our best customers.
The role requires the engineering skills to understand, prioritize, implement, and deploy robust enterprise features that cross multiple Default features and customer workflows.
Disclaimer: This role is for candidates based in New York City. If you join our team, you'll be expected to work with us in person to build what we hope will be next generational sales & marketing platform.
What You’ll Do
- Work tightly with Product, Design, and our customers to understand needs and constraints, help conceptualize and design full-stack solutions to customer problems and work with multiple stakeholders, internal and external, to deliver best-in-class product solutions.
- Uplevel Default product and platform capabilities for complex customer use cases. Partner closely with other stakeholders to ensure customer feedback and pain points are heard, reviewed, and prioritized adequately.
- Ensure superb customer experience (for our customers and theirs) from the first interaction through closing to onboarding and activation.
What You Need
- A minimum of 4 years of software engineering experience preferred
- Track record of shipping high-quality products and features for fast-growing startups
- Ability to turn business and product ideas into engineering solutions
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment, continuously grow, and master your craft
Compensation
- The annual salary/OTE range for the target level for this role is $150,000-$200,000 + target equity + benefits.
