Job Title: Packaging Engineer
Location: Lakeland, Florida 33815
Pay range: $50 to $55 per hour on W2 only
This is a Contract position on W2 only, no C2C or H1b Candidates.
Summary
• Develops and designs packaging equipment and materials for safe, convenient and attractive transport of goods under a variety of conditions. Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to determine the required type of packaging materials and to maximize convenience, utility and function based on the product's physical characteristics, safety and special-handling requirements.
• Evaluates packaging and transporting methods and procedures to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Evaluates and recommends efficient packing procedures, innovations in packaging materials, and utilization of sealing and fastening devices.
• This is an individual contributor role that requires the use of judgement in applying professional expertise and is expected to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Roles typically require a university degree or an extensive amount of practical knowledge gained through experience.

Additional Information:
• hybrid, remote or onsite? It will be hybrid at the Lakeland, Florida location. The expectation is 2-3 days per week on site, which will be required for hands-on work with the products.
• Is a degree required? Yes. Preferably an engineering degree (packaging, mechanical, industrial) or other technical degree with packaging experience is fine too.

• Can you give us an overview of the project this resource would be working on and what the day-to-day activities would look like? The role will be to design packages that allow for the safe and efficient shipment of a wide array of used medical devices from Lakeland to the Chandler, AZ site. The role will also design packages and containers that move clean medical devices from the Chandler, AZ plant to the Tijuana, Mex plant while maintaining cleanliness of the devices. This will require the contractor to assess all of the devices to be transported and determine the best container or package designs to move them, then to source the packages from suppliers, successfully test them, then launch them for use.
