Summary
The Accounts Merchandise Payable Clerk maintains the regular accounting duties for payables within the organization. Oversees billing our brand partners (Finish Line, JD Sports, & Macy’s). The Accounts Merchandise Clerk is responsible for acquiring and processing invoices, assisting in the reconciliation of accounts, and paying or receiving payments from vendors.This individual should effectively exhibit JD Finish Line’s core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community, and Financial Responsibility in everything they do while performing the following main duties:
- Participates in weekly check runs.
- Reconciles monthly vendor statements.
- Facilitates new vendor requests.
- Research and resolve discrepancies between invoices and receipts.
- Oversees the billing process between our brand team, digital marketing, retail marketing.
- Performs 3-way matching (invoice,purchase orders,and receiving report).
- Corresponds and interacts with vendors, executive staff, other departments, and staff members.
- Maintains the AP files.
- Files and retrieves documents as needed..
- Additional duties and projects are required.
Required Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED equivalent and 2-3 years of experience in Accounts Payable or related data entry function preferred. 1-2 years experience working for a retailer in an Accounts Payable function preferred. Internal experience as a JD Finish Line employee is strongly preferred with receivable/Inventory experience.
Required Computer and/or Technical Skills
Should have basic to intermediate knowledge and abilities with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, or Google Suite equivalents. Peoplesoft experience is helpful.
