Position Overview:
The Private Events Development Manager will be responsible for driving new business and managing bookings for private rentals at our 150-200 person venue in Brooklyn, NY. This role is key in generating revenue through corporate events, birthday parties, wedding receptions, photoshoots, and more. The role focuses on outreach, managing listings, and ensuring coordination of items such as catering, documentation, and insurance requirements. An on-site team will handle event-day logistics, but the Private Events Coordinator will be the primary point of contact throughout the booking process.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development:
· Identify and reach out to potential clients, including corporate groups, creative agencies, and event planners.
· Develop and execute strategies to increase private rental bookings.
· Build relationships with local businesses and agencies to position the venue as a top event space.
· Manage and update listings on platforms (e.g., Peerspace, Splacer, The Vendry).
· Conduct outreach via phone, email, and networking to secure new bookings.
· Meet or exceed sales targets for private events.
Client Management & Coordination:
· Serve as the primary contact for clients, from inquiry to booking confirmation.
· Coordinate event details, including catering, AV, and staffing, ensuring seamless communication with the on-site team.
· Follow up post-event for feedback and encourage repeat business.
Operations Support:
· Manage the booking calendar, ensuring smooth scheduling.
· Handle all necessary documents (contracts, permits, insurance).
· Work closely with the venue staff to ensure flawless event execution.
· Provide regular sales and performance reports to management.
Qualifications:
· 2+ years in sales, business development, or event planning (hospitality/events preferred).
· Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets and building client relationships.
· Strong negotiation skills and ability to close deals.
· Excellent communication and organizational skills.
· Familiarity with event platforms a plus
- Pay: $1,000/mo base + 15% commission
