We are looking for a Lab Supervisor to work in Brooklyn, NY.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- The Laboratory Supervisor will assist in managing all activities related to the performance of laboratory testing in support of the Construction Materials Testing Laboratory in Brooklyn, NY.
- They will meet agreed upon project deadlines by performing testing; scheduling technicians and managing workload; They will confirm that technicians correctly perform testing, calibrations, and calculations and computations by implementing and maintaining the requirements of the Atlas Quality Management System; and train, coordinate and supervise assigned staff.
- Works independently, using industry knowledge to solve problems of moderate scope.
- Will be responsible for daily laboratory activities in the absence of the Laboratory Manager.
- The successful candidate will bring strong leadership and knowledge of commercial laboratory operations.
Minimum Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience with laboratory testing of construction materials, specifically soils.
- 1+ year of experience in a supervisory roles (preferred)
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass drug and MVR.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Associate’s degree or Higher in Construction Technology, Construction Management or Related Engineering Field (preferred)
- Ability to work independently and as a team member, maintaining composure, and working effectively in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities.
- Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Able to use a company laptop or tablet computer and a working knowledge of MS Office programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Organization and multi-tasking ability.
- A decent work ethic, diligence, and elevated level of personal integrity.
Technical Requirements:
Experience in Soils testing required: ICC Soils Special Inspector or ACI Aggregate Base Testing Technician.
Other Miscellaneous Qualities:
- Familiarity with Lab Information Management Systems (LIMS)
