Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Assistant Director of Finance in Matteson, IL. The Assistant Director of Finance will be responsible for financial planning, preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, finance activities, financial reporting, development of the Village's annual budget, overseeing functions of payroll, accounting, bank reconciliation and accounts payable, and organizing and directing the various functions of the Finance Department This position is under the general direction of the Director of Finance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Public Administration
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience, preferably in a community of capable complexity.
- Financial Planning, Financial Statements, and Analytical Skills
- Experience in Finance and Financial Reporting
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Excellent organization managerial, analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and MS Excel
- Strong knowledge of municipal finance practices, including GASB principles and accounting practices
- CPA or CFA certification is a plus
