Position Summary
Beacon Hill's client in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a Life Insurance Contract Specialist to support their Group Contracts team. This role is crucial for drafting and amending Group Life insurance policies and certificates, ensuring compliance with internal standards and state requirements. We are looking for a dedicated professional who can collaborate effectively with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders while demonstrating expertise in Group Life insurance products.
This role is contract-to-hire with 2-days onsite in Saint Paul, MN.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and issue Group Life insurance policies and certificates by analyzing client policies, plan designs, and state-approved forms.
- Amend existing Group Life insurance policies and certificates as needed.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Group Life insurance policy-related inquiries, including policy language, provisions, structure, and state requirements.
- Actively engage with clients, channel partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and address any concerns.
- Participate in team projects aimed at process improvements, policy rewrites, product transitions, and compliance assurance.
- Provide creative, compliant solutions and resolve any issues or ambiguities with peer collaboration and escalation to leadership as necessary.
Qualifications
- Ability to read and understand legal form structures and meanings.
- Excellent analytical skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise, and legally compliant documentation.
- Self-driven with the ability to work independently, organize, plan, and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the capability to translate complex language for various audiences.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, OneDrive, SharePoint, HotDocs, and Adobe.
Preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in the Group Life insurance industry, including familiarity with products, standards, and forms.
- Experience drafting or reading life insurance policies.
