Purpose
This position is responsible for leading a broad range of responsibilities. This is not an office job, will be in the plant most of the time, hands on, able to assist subordinates.
Job Responsibilities
- Trains or delegates training of new employees; monitors progress and provides direction for employee development.
- Administers Company attendance, leave, and other human resources policies; enters employee timesheets into time and attendance system.
- Oversees staffing coverage for vacations, callouts, and leaves.
- Provides performance feedback; completes performance reviews.
- Determines priority of problems to be resolved; coordinates planning with
Maintenance, Production, Transportation staff, and if applicable, contractors; ensures staffing of all positions, coordinating with Human Resources.
- Assists in routine troubleshooting of machines, if not routine operator adjustment or in case of breakdown
- Periodically reviews status of rolled, cooling, and finished goods inventory; receives notification of failed inspections, coordinates corrected product labelling or other resolution of related problems.
- Enters data into production control system

- Must have roll up your sleeves and assist to get the job done attitude. (This is not a desk job) This position is working out on the floor with your team.

Education and Experience
- 4-year College Degree or equivalent work experience of 2 years in supervisory capacity preferred.
- Ability to motivate, lead and facilitate manufacturing initiatives while fostering a cohesive work environment. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization (report writing, and presentation skills needed).
- Technical background in textiles and Manufacturing preferred.
- 6 +years of related production supervisory experience in manufacturing.
- Strong leadership skills (conflict resolution, facilitation, change management skills, decision making, empowerment and delegation), preferred.
- Able to lead problem solving and troubleshooting efforts associated with high-level process issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in explaining technical and/or regulatory issues and concerns to a varied audience.
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Good planning and priority setting skills.
- Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
