Physician is not required to be on-site while providing Call Support (this means Market should not be charged for call back hours if a physician decides they want to stay in the hospital, but there is not the need for him/her to be there based on the criteria contained herein) Situations when the on-call locum/PSA would be called to the hospital : Request from hospitalist to consult on patient that is inpatient. Emergency room provider request consult. Request to assist another physician with emergency surgery. Documentation of Patient Contact Hours (included call back hours included in the rate and charged call back hours) Physicians are required to provide supporting notes listed on their timesheet entries to verify call-back hours (patient contact hours) submitted and associated with the acceptable occurrences mentioned above. Physicians must document in the timesheet the specific reason for the call back and they should have a description such that the note can be validated if an audit report was generated in an electronic health record. <
