Key Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive project plan for data center relocation, including timelines, resource allocation, risk mitigation, and contingency planning
- Manage the overall project plan for relocating equipment, including servers, storage, networking gear, and other infrastructure components
- Coordinate with facilities teams, IT staff, vendors, and movers to develop detailed logistics and installation plans
- Develop a labeling and documentation system to track all equipment through the relocation process
- Manage the physical move of equipment, overseeing packing, transport, and reinstallation
- Coordinate network and system cutover plans to minimize downtime
- Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the move and develop contingency plans
- Ensure compliance with security protocols and regulations throughout the relocation
- Conduct thorough inventory and assessment of existing IT equipment and infrastructure
- Coordinate testing and verification of all systems post-move
- Provide regular status updates to leadership and stakeholders
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience managing large-scale data center or IT infrastructure projects
- Strong technical knowledge of data center operations, networking, servers, and storage systems
- Proven project management skills and PMP certification preferred
- ITIL and ITSM framework knowledge
- Experience with data center design and infrastructure planning
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities to coordinate across multiple teams
