firstPRO is seeking a talented IT Project Manager to oversee and coordinate the migration of our client's systems and users from Windows 10 to Windows 11. This role involves managing the entire lifecycle of the migration project, ensuring timely and successful rollout while balancing budget, scope, and quality. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Windows operating systems, strong project management skills, and a proven track record in IT project execution. This is an on-site role with a 2 days/ week expectation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop and manage a detailed project plan for the Windows 11 migration, including scope, timeline, and resources.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including IT, operations, and business units, to ensure alignment with migration goals.
- Oversee the execution of the migration strategy, including hardware and software compatibility checks, user training, and system integration.
- Budget and Resource Management:
- Track and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial constraints.
- Allocate resources effectively and monitor resource utilization throughout the project lifecycle.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and issues related to the migration and develop mitigation strategies.
- Proactively address and resolve project challenges to minimize impact on the migration timeline.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that the Windows 11 deployment meets organizational quality standards and complies with IT policies.
- Implement testing protocols to verify the functionality and stability of the new operating system in various environments.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and status.
- Prepare and deliver project reports, including milestones, deliverables, and performance metrics.
- Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide support during the transition period, addressing user issues and technical challenges as they arise.
- Collaborate with the IT support team to resolve post-migration problems and ensure smooth operation of the new system.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar is preferred.
- Proven experience managing IT projects, with a focus on operating system migrations or similar large-scale technology rollouts.
- In-depth knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems, including deployment and configuration.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing requirements.
