Our client is seeking an Electrical Engineer for their Tennessee location. The selected candidate will provide engineering support to both maintenance and operations teams. Responsibilities include ensuring safety, restoring product flow, offering technical solutions to recurring design and process challenges, and analyzing equipment and process data to identify areas for improvement. Additionally, this individual will develop and implement solutions and system enhancements, as well as manage capital projects, major repairs, and maintenance initiatives. Some process engineering support will also be required.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in an electrical engineering field
- Minimum of 3 years' experience with working knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles
- Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ladder logic and programming/troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s), Rockwell and Allen Bradley PLC experience is preferred.
- Experience specifying, installing, and troubleshooting DC and AC motor drives systems.
- Experience with networking equipment, installation, troubleshooting and commissioning. (Ideally as it pertains to Automation Communication).
- Experience with power distribution systems.
- Manufacturing experience in the metals or similar industry, with aluminum rolling or processing preferred.
- Experience with rolling mills and mill controls, shears, strip processing and coiling, metal process furnaces or casting equipment
- Technical knowledge to support the installation, operation, and repair of electrical controls and automation technology.
- Previous experience with data acquisition systems and data analytics
- Experience in justifying, managing, and executing capital projects.
- Strong written and oral communications skills.
- Strong problem solving and creative thinking skills.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
