Robert Half is seeking highly skilled and motivated IT Infrastructure Engineer with a focus on virtualization architecture, network storage, and backup solutions. This is 100% remote supporting a client in the financial industry. This position will serve as the highest tier of technical escalation, providing leadership in system administration and engineering activities within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Duration: 6-month contract with potential for extension (W2 Contract)

Key Responsibilities
- Systems Engineer: Perform day-to-day management, patching, troubleshooting, and maintenance of a virtualized environment, including VMware VSphere and VDI with over 300 virtual servers.
- Server Deployment: Stand up servers from scratch, virtualize physical servers, and manage server consolidation and virtualization projects.
- Storage and Backup Solutions: Architect, manage, and maintain network storage systems (NAS, Pure preferred) and backup solutions, including Commvault and Rubrik.
- Migration and Merger Projects: Lead data center migration initiatives, including merging multiple environments (currently merging 4 data centers into 2), and participate in infrastructure mergers.
- Disaster Recovery: Engage in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution to ensure continuity and resiliency.
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance and training to junior team members as the highest tier of technical escalation.
Technical Requirements
- Virtualization: Expert-level experience with VMware VSphere, VDI, and storage virtualization.
- Storage Systems: Hands-on experience with network storage systems (Pure preferred) and backup solutions such as Commvault and Rubrik.
- Windows Server: Proficient in managing updated versions of Windows Server environments, including Active Directory and Azure Console.
- Networking: Expert-level knowledge of networking concepts, including LAN configuration, VLANs, VIPS, and the interaction between virtual and physical networks.
- Patching Tools: Experience with patching systems using Aria and Skyline in VMware.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cloud Infrastructure: Familiarity with AWS/Azure infrastructure.
- Backup Solutions: Knowledge of SW3 backups.
- Migration Experience: Experience with large-scale mergers and infrastructure migrations is highly desired.

The pay range for this position is $50/hour to $65/hour. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance.
