This position is will support Utility Scale Energy Storage construction projects in the Americas
Senior Project Engineer
Key responsibilities
- Manage the technical scope of projects and serve as the technical point of contact to the project manager.
- Interface with external engineering firm, subcontractors and Client and liaise with internal disciplines to drive the projects to conclusion.
- Build internal and external relationships with key suppliers, customers and internal & external service providers
- Work with engineers, technologists and designers to provide engineering support to a variety of projects
- Design and develop Single line diagrams, Schematics, Wiring diagrams for Battery storage systems
- Prepare Electrical Equipment Specifications, Data Sheets, Purchase Requisitions and Bid evaluations for inverters, Switchgear, Transformers and other electrical equipment as required.
- Review Vendor Documents
- Develop Single Line diagrams, Schematics, UG system, and cable schedules
- Develop Short circuit, Load Flow and Arc Flash documentation using ETAP.
- Prepare electrical designs, calculations and bills of material
- Review internal and subcontractors design to ensure compliance with project requirements and contractual obligations.
Skills / Qualifications
- Requires BS degree in Engineering and over 7 years experience of prior relevant experience or Masters with over than 5 years of prior relevant experience
- Experience with design in power Systems for Utility Installation, Solar plant, Battery Storage, or Cogen plant power is preferred.
- Experience in the field of EPC Engineering in North America is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience using some of the following applications: Excel; Word; Power System Study programs ETAP, SKM
- Knowledge of the Electrical System design, System Studies, Relay Coordination, Protection & Control
- Familiarity with applicable codes, standards and regulations used in North American
- Battery storage, PV plant or thermal plant power systems work is a plus.
- Basic understanding of Civil, Mechanical, and Structural.
- Liaise with other project disciplines
- Ability to read and understand project owner specifications and engineering drawings.
- Ability to manage subcontractors and drive schedule of Engineering activities
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Ability to problem solve issues and have a “outside the box” mentality.
- Ability to work closely with colleagues to quickly learn and understand various processes regarding the company’s policies, procedures, and software programs.
- Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
- Able to produce clear and concise documentation.
- Have Be flexible with the ability to manage change
