Job Summary:
The Territory Manager is responsible for driving sales and increasing market share of their cannabis portfolio within a designated territory. This role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with retail partners and other key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the cannabis industry, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in sales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Business Development:
Identify and target potential dispensaries and dispensary chains within the assigned territory.
Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve or exceed sales targets.
Conduct regular visits to current retail partners to ensure product placement, promotions, and to gather market intelligence.
During visits ensure adequate inventory levels are maintained, create orders, upsell inventory requirements if the retail partner is experiencing frequent OOS and other general sales responsibilities.
Present and demonstrate product features and benefits to retail staff and management when applicable.
Sell in additional SKUs and product lines to expand the brand’s presence in stores.
Ensure proper everyday and promotional pricing is being adhered to.
Ensure the brand’s product portfolio is merchandised correctly in retail locations.
Conduct frequent store visits, up to 5 days per week, to monitor product placement, out-of-stock (OOS) situations, and overall product visibility.
Implement merchandising plans and strategies to maximize sales opportunities.
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders.
Provide exceptional customer service and address any issues or concerns promptly.
Collaborate with the marketing team to communicate promotional materials and campaigns needs.
- Market Analysis & Reporting:
Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
Provide regular reports on sales performance, market conditions, and customer feedback.
Participate in trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities to promote our brand.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a sales role, preferably in the cannabis industry.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Strong knowledge of the cannabis industry, including regulations and market dynamics.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficient in using CRM software and G Suite.
Ability to travel within the assigned territory daily.
