Join a leading provider of fire protection and safety solutions as a skilled Fire Sprinkler Designer. You wiull be responsible for using computer-aided design (CAD) to create detailed drawings and layouts, calculate dimensions and material requirements. Assist in the creation of functional and well-designed products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed designs of fire sprinkler systems using specialized CAD software packages that are based on the AutoCAD platform.
- Read and interpret construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Perform hydraulic calculations.
- Interpret and apply applicable NFPA standards.
- Communicate with AHJs, contractors, and other trades.
- Identify opportunities for cost-saving measures and quality improvement.
- Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- 5+years' experience in Fire Sprinkler Design.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- NICET Certification level III or IV
- Obtain and retain licenses that are required by national, state/province, and local codes.
- Proficient use of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is required, HydraCAD is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical, and mechanical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of industry codes such as IFC, NFPA, IBC, and NEC
- Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality.
- Ability to travel as needed.
