Weekly Pay Range - $2530 To $2811 Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12H Nights Every Other Weekend; First to Float Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years ICU experience required; prior travel experience preferred License: License submission required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, COVID Vaccine Required Must-Have: General medical surgical ICU experience, trauma experience, neuro assessment proficiency Job Description: - Work in a 24-bed Intensive Care Unit - Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 - Utilize Cerner PowerChart for electronic medical records - Collaborate with an in-house Intensivist available 24/7 - No monitor technicians; RN must read and interpret strips - Administer and manage various drips such as neosynephrine, levophed, vasopressin, amiodarone, dopamine, and dobutamine - Operate ventilators as needed - Rotate every other weekend; must work one major and one minor holiday during both winter and summer seasons - Wear Navy-colored scrubs - Float to telemetry unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio - Attend orientation comprising 12 hours plus two shifts on unit - Handle common ICU diagnoses such as trauma, MVC, post-cath, post-CABG, sepsis, and respiratory failure - No CRRT or ballon pumps; travelers do not handle craniotomies or ventriculostomy cases - The hospital may cancel shifts up to three times during the contract Candidates must be ready to contribute effectively to a fast-paced ICU setting, demonstrate strong clinical skills, and maintain flexibility for floating to related units as required.
