Job Overview:The Quality Technician assures that quality requirements are enforced during development, fabricating and manufacturing operations through quality control inspection and checks. It also reduces the risk that non-conforming materials that require testing reach the assembly floor or customers.
Position Responsibilities:
- Perform visual, dimensional, and overall inspection of products and components throughout all stages of the foam qualification and inspection processes to assess the condition or quality of work performed.
- Inspect and verify in-process development and manufacturing operations as defined by company quality plans
- Enforce QMS process compliance by in-process development and manufacturing operations
- Perform incoming inspection using work instruction, marked drawings and electronic worksheets. Provide visible identification of quality inspection status.
- Maintain inspection records in E2 ERP database.
- Use measuring instruments, apply inspection methods, and techniques necessary to verify part conformance to supplier quality requirements including completion of inspection test and PMI reports.
- Maintain the integrity, identification and security of inspection tools, equipment, and fixtures.
- Attend Production Meeting for priority assignments established from assembly floor requirements, ERP, and work order shortage reports.
- Obtain engineering drawings from SharePoint Site or marked drawings from engineering needed for inspection.
- Repackage and preserve material and part integrity after inspection.
- Generate or accept Material Reject Notices for non-conforming materials and components identified at incoming inspection, the assembly floor, or as returned from the field. Inspect all similar inventory and quarantine additional non-conforming materials and components.
- Perform 1st article inspection of incoming components as needed.
- Assure all identified nonconforming conditions are identified by reports, forms, checklist and/or the nonconformance reporting system.
- Works with production to identify and plan for the day’s shipments to ensure verifications/inspections are made in a timely manner.
- Report adverse and/or non-compliant items to the responsible supervisor and QA Manager and follows-up to confirm that remedies have been put in place.
- Follow safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment; report any safety concerns or incidents promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, including the proper disposal of waste materials and the recycling of reusable components.
- Work collaboratively with team members and communicate effectively to ensure smooth production flow and meet production targets.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment, particularly in foam fabrication, is preferred but not required.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Experience with ERP system QC terminology, report forms, and processes.
- Familiar with the quality-related design and manufacturing intent of critical components
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing for extended periods, lifting, and repetitive movements.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure precision in cutting, shaping, and assembling foam components.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn how to operate various manufacturing machines and tools.
- Computer skills, experienced with MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel.
- Team Player: Willingness to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Safety Conscious: Commitment to following safety protocols and contributing to a safe working environment.

- Basic Computer Proficiency: Familiarity with using computers for tasks such as data entry, inventory tracking, and operating computerized machinery; able to use an iPad to enter information into ERP system.
- Displays higher level of independence and self-sufficiency in completing tasks without constant supervision
- Capable of managing their workload and making decisions independently
- Possesses the skills and knowledge to handle complex tasks without constant supervision
- Able to specialize in certain production processes and carry out responsibilities independently. Able to not only perform production tasks but also provide guidance and direction to other team members, indicating a higher level of responsibility and autonomy.

Physical Requirements:
- Lifting: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Vision: Good vision is typically important for reading documents, working on a computer, and other tasks that require visual acuity.
- Sensory Requirements: Ability to concentrate in a relatively noisy environment or handle occasional loud noises.
Compensation details: 17-19.5 Hourly Wage
