Client: A major global corporation and a leader in their industry operating over 350 manufacturing facilities with annual revenue earning over $19 B and employing over 18,000.
Overview:
This position will serve as the point of contact over all site construction activities for a capital expenditure project overseeing the build out of a transport trailer drop lot in a manufacturing/industrial environment. Utilize technical background to prepare and support EWOs, EVM, QIS tools that provide input for project cost reports via SAP. The position supports field technical issue resolution, collaborating with clients and contractors to assist delivering technical as well as non-technical solutions, utilizing their expertise and construction knowledge. Collaborate with vendors, contractors, field staff, project staff, and factory staff and will be involved in preparing, coordinating and reviewing process equipment and building drawing packages and managing internal, contract and other resources involved in the pre-design, construction, engineering and supervising, scheduling, coordinating and evaluating contractor work. Report issues related to schedule, cost, progress, safety and design directly to project engineering managers, plant project stakeholders, and/or contractor managers.
Role:
- Manage financial, safety and schedule key performance indicators, then will redirect any deviation or propose alternatives.
- Manager various contractor manager resources when executing major capital projects.
- Review project details in SAP system and review and update Microsoft Project, BIM 360, CXAlloy as required.
- Organize, manage, and establish asset tracking, tagging, and project close-out activities with facility resources to determinate depreciation and final cost transfer.
- Track, sign for, maintain, and positively transfer procured field equipment and assets.
- Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work site. Safety is the most important responsibility of the owner’s field representative.
- Be accountable for the direct execution, inspection, and quality acceptance of the project per relevant specifications, drawings, scope, schedule and budget.
- Will be responsible for coordinating, driving, and maintaining all the schedules within the field and ensure that all work is being planned no less than 6 weeks out and is completed according to the contract schedule.
- Manage schedules that include “5 Forward /1 Back” Week Look Ahead, Detailed Gantt, and Milestones.
- Coordinate with project support staff, vendors, contractors, sub-contractors, plant, and suppliers on all matters related to the project.
- Manage field inputs, RFIs, Submittals through CX Alloy or available tool.
- Provide daily and weekly reports that include important items which may affect the project.
- Conduct weekly planning meeting with the plant engineer or designate, to determine access times for construction activities.
Qualifications:
- Experience managing manufacturing expansion projects through all phases of construction.
- 10 – 15+ years of construction management related experience on multimillion-dollar CAPEX projects in the food and/or industrial manufacturing industry.
- Project management functions that include project planning, scope management, scheduling, budget management, and resource management.
- At least 2 out of 3 of the following types of project experience - (Civil, Structural, Architectural).
- Experience overseeing the build out of a transport trailer drop lot in a manufacturing/industrial environment with civil engineering and permitting/zoning experience is a big plus.
- Software experience with BIM 360 and BIM Field, file sharing systems (SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.), Cx Alloy, SAP, MS Windows, or Adobe Acrobat.
- A thorough understanding of project management, building design and construction, scheduling, cost modeling and risk analysis is required.
- PMP, PMI, GAC, CCM, CMCI, CMAA or similar, OSHA 30, or CPR certifications is a plus.
