In this Function You Will
Setup and operate two or more NC/CNC multi-axis, multi-turret lathes and, multiple chucker lathes equipped with auto, manual or robotic loaders with related secondary auto/manual and conventional primary equipment and operate gear hobbing and milling machines. Perform turning, drilling, boring, reaming, threading, tapping, forming, facing, milling and deburring operations performed on various types of material. Must assemble tool setup packages prior to setup. Insert control tape, or download control program from DNC, set controls and perform manual data input functions as required. Review operation sheet data, parts programs, tape readouts and blueprints and work with Standard work and maintain visual controls and aids. Change collets and/or chucks; load and unload parts; load, unload and adjust tools on machines as necessary per layout and replace dull or broken tools. Initiate and insure accurate tool settings, manual data input and tape data input. Adjust machine settings, at setup and during operation, using manual data input to correct variations. Maintain a supply of material to machines and remove finished work to containers as necessary to maintain machine operation. Inspect output as needed to maintain required specifications; correct for any discrepancies. Perform accumulation, kitting, moving of kitted jobs, assemble, pack, and label various products of jobs as directed or guided following prescribed methods and standard work. Administer the 5Ss and maintain area, machines and control units in a neat, clean, orderly and safe condition; wash-down, clean machinery and tooling as needed. Perform simple preventative maintenance functions such as cleaning chips, maintaining coolant concentration and coolant levels as needed or directed. Follow prescribed or standard safety regulations. Perform related duties as required or directed.
Required Qualifications
Minimum three (3) years" previous work experience in CNC setup
Minimum three (3) years" previous work experience in CNC operation
Ability to lift up to 50lbs; bend, twist, grab, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, and perform all other essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Skills
Experience with CNC programming and setup
Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
Knowledge of CNC machining principles and processes
Familiarity with tooling and machine maintenance procedures
Strong attention to detail and quality standards
Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues efficiently
Experience with 5S methodology and lean manufacturing practices
Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and processes in CNC machining industry
