Travel Ultrasound Technician (General/Vascular) job description:
Mobile ultrasound technicians will travel within a specified geographic area, along with their equipment, to perform ultrasound scans (general and vascular) on patients that reside in facilities for the purposes of confirming the presence of disease. The ultrasound technician will possess the knowledge, skills, and proper license to perform these exams in their designated areas. The technician will work mostly independently with little supervision in the day-to-day operation.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of scanning experience (2-3 years preferred)
- Ability to perform a variety of general and vascular examinations
- ARDMS registry preferred (Abdomen or Vascular)
- Ability to work independently without immediate supervision
- Willingness to drive up to 200+ miles a day
- Comfortable writing a technical impression of each finding
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Possess a drivers license and ability to operate a company vehicle
Mobile Ultrasound Technician duties and responsibilities:
The duties of an Ultrasound Technician go beyond diagnosing ailments. Other responsibilities include:
- Use sonographic equipment to identify and observe the area(s) of concern.
- Prepare the patient for examinations and answer any questions they may have about the testing.
- Report to the appropriate medical staff of any abnormalities that require immediate attention.
- Maintain sonography equipment and report machinery failure.
- Conduct scan tests and write technical summary reports based on the results.
- Load studies into online PACS system and record the record as complete.
- Manage several patients and priorities and be able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
- Work under minimal supervision and cooperate with other team members as needed.
