The CHA Cardiovascular Department, under the direction of the Cardiology Medical Director and Network Cardiovascular Manager, provides a variety of diagnostic testing services, including stress tests, cardiac ultrasound, vascular testing, event monitors, and Holter monitors.
The Cardiac Sonographer plays a vital role on our Cardiovascular team,performing a wide array of non-invasive cardiovascular tests in order to provide medical specialists with data for diagnostic purposes. These tests include cardiovascular ultrasounds using 2-D imaging, color flow Doppler, and spectral imaging through continuous wave and pulsed wave Doppler, as well as exercise/pharmacological stress ultrasounds utilizing harmonic imaging, contrast echocardiography, and Holter monitor scanning. The Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for recognizing adequate versus inadequate data collection, as well as preparing accurate preliminary reports for physician interpretation. In addition, they are crucial in recognizing and reporting abnormalities and life-threatening findings to the physician or nursing team in a timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Education/Training: Accredited Allied Health Program, registry eligible
• Certifications: American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS Healthcare Provider
• Work Experience: Previous clinical background required

Work Days: 4 weekdays per week; Rotating on call weekends
