Essential Functions:
- Assist Corporate Counsel and business partners with drafting, review and management of template, commercial, non-disclosure, consulting and similar agreements
- Assist business partners with contract renewals and modifications
- Maintenance and filing of templates and executed contracts, including docketing of expiration and renewal deadlines
- Manage litigation-related inquiries, including: investigation of facts and circumstances; coordination of outside counsel, internal parties and insurance carrier; responses to subpoenas and records requests; and preservation, collection, review and production of documents as necessary
- Organize and track information to produce internal quarterly litigation reports
- Review and approval of certain sponsorship activities and other related activities
- Assist with the development and implementation of corporate policies and procedures
- Conduct legal research in various areas of law related to the healthcare and medical device industries, as well as those related to clinical laboratories
- Performs additional duties or assignments as directed by management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and Paralegal Certificate as recognized by the American Bar Association
- Minimum of 7 years of paralegal experience either in law firm or in-house environment focused on contracts and litigation
- Solution-oriented individual with the ability to prioritize, analyze situations from both a legal and commercial perspective, and handle multiple responsibilities with little to no supervision
- Knowledge and understanding of contract terms and an understanding of the legal and business implications of contract provisions
- Self-motivated individual who has excellent organizational, and verbal and written communication skills; and meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product
- Self-motivated, energetic and innovative team player
- Knowledge of Sunshine Act, Stark and Federal and State Anti-Kickback laws a plus
- Strong computer literacy skills with Word, MS Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
- Passing of background check which may include verification of prior employment, criminal conviction history, educational and driving records
