Estimator – Commercial Construction
Location: Baltimore, MD Area (Local Candidates Preferred)
Our client, a well-established general contractor, is looking for an experienced Estimator to join their team in Curtis Bay, MD. This role will focus on estimating for larger commercial and industrial projects and is primarily office-based, with occasional site visits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed estimates and take-offs for large-scale commercial and industrial construction projects.
- Collaborate with the Chief Estimator and project management teams to review project scopes and enhance estimating processes.
- Conduct risk assessments, apply labor factors, and evaluate material costs to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
- Maintain and update the database of labor and material costs for future project estimates.
- Provide support for preconstruction activities and assist with value engineering when necessary.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in estimating for commercial construction projects, ideally on projects ranging from $5M to $50M.
- Proficient in the use of estimating software and strong knowledge of construction costs, processes, and labor/material pricing.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience.
