Position Description:
The Sales Manager will ensure the profitability of the Automotive Dealership by planning, motivating, and coordinating the dealership’s management through leadership and solid business practices.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Hires, trains, motivates, counsels, and monitors the performance of all salespeople.
- Directs and schedules the activities of all department employees, always ensuring proper staffing.
- Ensures that each customer is greeted as quickly as possible.
- Implements and maintains a prospect tracking and follow-up system.
- Helps salespeople close deals when necessary.
- Communicates with new-vehicle and used-vehicle salespeople to ensure that dealership policies and procedures are understood and followed.
- Conducts sales training meetings as directed by the general sales manager.
- Forecasts aggressive yet realistic monthly goals and objectives for individual salespeople and provides them with the support to meet these goals.
- Assists in development of improvement programs for salespeople who are having difficulty reaching their objectives.
- Ensures salespeople maintain a high customer satisfaction rating.
- Recommends for dismissal any salesperson failing to meet dealership standards.
- Contacts new owners within 24 hours of delivery to ensure complete satisfaction with sales and delivery process. Addresses any concerns or complaints immediately.
- Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state and local regulations that affect vehicle sales.
- Maintains and monitors CSI as per manufacturer requirements.
- Maintains professional appearance.
- Attends managers meetings as requested.
- Other tasks assigned by Management.

- 5+ years minimum dealership sales and supervisory experience.
- Ability to work with others in a complex matrix structure.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to understand profit and loss statements.
- Ability to manage large, diverse staff.
- Ability to work a (6) day work week.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Computer and internet savvy.
- Proactive in nature.
- Ability to plan and organize daily selling activities.
- Ability to secure new business with daily follow up.
- Experience in working with CRM's and follow up.
- Experience providing quality customer service.
- Strong team leader and team player.
- Strong negotiation skills.

Education/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university
- Five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
