Job Opportunity
My client is seeking a Senior Staff Validation Engineer to join their Infrastructure Digital Power Applications team. This role involves leading validation efforts for cutting-edge digital multiphase DC-DC power converter products designed for server and infrastructure processor/SoC applications. It’s a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of Digital Multiphase power management and contribute significantly to the technical and commercial success of their innovative products.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborating with design and applications engineering teams to develop comprehensive validation test plans and providing input for automation to ensure all corner cases are addressed.
- Working closely with internal teams to guide the development of automation tools and methodologies to achieve robust, efficient product validation with maximum coverage.
- Collecting, analysing, and presenting validation test data, and providing recommendations for design or application modifications based on the findings.
- Participating in FPGA-based design prototyping and validation to ensure key features and functions meet expectations.
- Collaborating with design teams to identify and implement solutions when performance targets are not met.
- Developing valuable intellectual property (IP) by creating innovative solutions to critical customer challenges.
- Supporting marketing efforts by providing analysis that demonstrates the monetary value of developed IP.
- Mentoring junior engineers and technicians, acting as a key liaison between internal customers and the automation team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in the power management industry.
- Expertise in multiphase digitally enabled DC/DC converters and VR systems.
- Experience with firmware-enabled products.
- Strong understanding of control loop theory and its application in power converters.
- Proficiency with lab equipment such as network analysers, oscilloscopes, and waveform generators.
- Working knowledge of schematic capture, simulation, and layout tools.
- Proficiency in data analysis using tools like Excel or JMP.
- Experience in automating lab testing, with proficiency in common software, drivers, and APIs.
- Programming skills in Python, C, or other object-oriented languages.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to translate market needs into product capabilities that drive market adoption.
