Role: Security Engineer
Location: Columbia, MD
Work model: Hybrid - Fulltime
Salary: $140,000- $175,000
CANDIDATE MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE SECURITY CLEARANCE
Must haves:
- Holds an active Security Clearance
- 3-5 years of experience as a Security Engineer or Linux System Administrator with a security focus.
- In-depth knowledge of Linux operating system internals, including file systems, kernel modules, and system calls.
- Proficient in networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP, along with security tools like firewalls and VPNs
- Familiar with security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO 27001).
- Strong scripting abilities in Bash, Python, or Perl for automating security processes.
- Experience using vulnerability assessment tools (e.g., Nessus, OpenVAS) and applying penetration testing methodologies.
