Position Overview:
The Superintendent will be pivotal in overseeing construction projects to ensure they adhere to design specifications, budget constraints, and project timelines. This role requires a deep understanding of the construction process, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. The Superintendent will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining high standards of quality throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Scheduling: Develop, maintain, and update project schedules, including phasing plans and look-aheads to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion.
- Trade Coordination: Schedule and manage all trades and manpower resources, optimizing their deployment to meet project requirements.
- Site Meetings: Attend and lead job-site meetings as necessary to review progress, address issues, and align on project goals.
- Inspection Coordination: Coordinate all required inspections, ensuring that work complies with regulations and standards.
- Safety Management: Conduct weekly jobsite safety meetings, enforce safety protocols, and ensure a safe, clean, and accident-free work environment.
- Project Setup: Oversee the setup of project infrastructure, including temporary power, utilities, staging areas, jobsite office, signage, and safety equipment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Project Manager to provide clear direction, establish project requirements, and adhere to timelines and budgets.
- Issue Resolution: Respond promptly to issues raised by Project Management, subcontractors, vendors, and owners, ensuring timely resolution.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of all project activities, incidents, and changes
- Submittal Review: Review and verify that all submittals comply with contract requirements and project specifications.
- Change Orders: Evaluate and review all change order requests prior to submission, ensuring they are well-documented and justified.
- RFIs: Review and respond to all Requests for Information (RFIs) with timely and accurate information.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction, demonstrating a strong track record of successful project management.
- Education: Relevant industry certifications and/or formal training in construction management or related fields are preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Procore and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with scheduling software such as Microsoft Project is advantageous.
- Safety Certification: OSHA 30 certification is required.

- In-depth understanding of construction processes, including the ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, submittals, and inspection reports.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with Project Managers, clients, architects, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with a focus on maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the capability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
