Position Summary:
The Project Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial, hospitality, renovation, and multifamily construction projects. This role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency in construction estimating software, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing bids, analyzing project costs, and delivering high-quality estimates that support successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare Detailed Estimates: Develop comprehensive and accurate project cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
- Project Analysis: Review architectural plans, specifications, and project documents to determine project scope, and conduct quantity takeoffs.
- Bid Preparation: Prepare and submit competitive bids for commercial, hospitality, renovation, and multifamily construction projects.
- Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Solicit bids from vendors and subcontractors, ensuring accurate pricing and comprehensive scopes of work.
- Budgeting and Cost Tracking: Assist in project budgeting, cost tracking, and forecasting to ensure projects remain on budget and meet financial goals.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to ensure alignment on project scope and budgetary requirements.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess potential project risks, including schedule and cost impacts, and provide recommendations for mitigation.
- Market Research: Stay informed about market conditions, including materials and labor costs, to provide competitive and accurate estimates.
- Proposal Presentation: Prepare and present proposals to clients, ensuring clarity and transparency in all pricing aspects.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as an estimator in commercial, hospitality, renovation, or multifamily construction.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., ProEst, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and codes, with a focus on commercial, hospitality, and multifamily projects.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present detailed information clearly and professionally.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
