Who we are looking for:
First Eagle is seeking an Associate or AVP, Corporate Development to support the Chief Financial Officer. This candidate must have experience in Investment Banking and Corporate Development. This role will be based in New York and they will be responsible for the below responsibilities and have the following qualifications for this role:
What you will do:
- Support the CFO with strategic projects and reporting requirements
- Design and develop financial models, key analytics, and ad hoc analyses for critical firm initiatives
- Create dynamic PowerPoint decks that present data analysis and recommendations
- In collaboration with other divisions, create presentation decks for the First Eagle Partnership Committee and Board
- Use Excel to support the development of management dashboards and reports
- Lead projects and initiatives that span across financial and business areas often with other Finance teams including Corporate Accounting, FP&A, and Performance Analytics
- Research the competitive landscape and market trends as it relates to internal strategic initiatives
- Conduct market/competitor research, analyzing trends, evaluating go-to-market options, and developing business cases to inform management decisions and investments
- Complete peer group benchmarking and public trading multiples analyses
- Research potential acquisition and partnership targets, prepare financial analyses and valuation models, and develop regular updates and approval documents
- Analyze industry themes, competitive dynamics, and client- and technology-related trends to provide relevant business insights and actionable recommendations
The qualities you should have:
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in finance, business, or economics
- Must have 2+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity or corporate strategy and development
- Possess exceptional quantitative and qualitative analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of financial markets and basic economic principles
- Strong valuation and financial modeling skills
- Experience evaluating and pursuing merger and acquisition opportunities from concept to transaction execution and integration
- Extensive experience developing PowerPoint presentations for a senior executive audience
- Resourceful, efficient, and meticulous attention to detail; proven and proactive project management skills
- Agile, able to handle complex business projects with a high sense of urgency in a fast-paced, deadline-intensive environment
- Dynamic and effective communication skills (written and verbal); possess executive presence
- Strong work ethic; willing to go the extra mile and be on-call during busy periods
Base Salary range: $120,000 to $170,000. In addition, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus. Compensation may vary based upon, but not limited to – the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
