We are seeking a COO who will oversee and manage our client's strategic and operational functions. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of a historic institution, driving operational excellence, optimizing efficiency, and executing strategic initiatives that align with the organization’s mission and growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Leadership:
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and objectives.
- Manage relationships with key partners, driving financial performance and stability.
2. Strategic Planning:
- Collaborate with the CEO and senior management to develop and implement strategic plans.
- Identify opportunities for growth and innovation, with a focus on community engagement.
3. Financial Management:
- Manage the budget and financial performance, ensuring fiscal responsibility and profitability.
- Analyze financial data and reports to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Work with the Controller to develop and monitor annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
4. Human Resources:
- Oversee talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
5. Customer Experience:
- Ensure exceptional customer service across all locations and online platforms.
- Work with the marketing team to enhance customer experiences and drive engagement.
- Monitor customer feedback and address concerns promptly and effectively.
6. Technology and Innovation:
- Leverage technology to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and enhance the customer experience.
- Lead digital transformation initiatives to drive competitiveness and innovation.
7. Vendor Relationship Management:
- Oversee partnerships with key vendors, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Monitor vendor performance and contract compliance.
8. Real Estate and Lease Management:
- Oversee real estate assets, including property management and lease arrangements.
- Negotiate lease terms and manage relationships with landlords and property managers.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize the use and value of the real estate portfolio.
- Oversee the design and construction of new stores and remodel existing retail locations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior management role, preferably within the retail sectors.
- Proven track record of successfully managing operations, driving strategic initiatives, and achieving financial targets.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, nimble, and entrepreneurial organization. A willingness and ability to test and learn and adjust strategies and tactics as needed.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
