The Purchasing Manager will oversee all activities involved in the sourcing and procurement of all material to enable the growth of the company’s strategy. The Purchasing Manager will negotiate with suppliers, partners, and vendors to acquire the most cost-effective deals and to reduce procurement expenses. The goal for this role is to improve productivity and efficiency and reduce costs while securing high quality products and material for the company.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with other work teams and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain.
- Establishes performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain.
- Negotiates prices for direct and indirect material and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies.
- Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Utilize MRP systems to forecast demand and plan procurement activities.
- Maintains required quantity of supplies and materials to optimize service and delivery
- Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company.
- Develops policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implements subsequent changes to processes.
- Collaborates and manages vendor-partners to properly enable the Company’s commitments to vendor-partners.
- Participates as an advisory member of product development initiatives, providing information and guidance on availability and cost of supplies and materials.
- Acts as part of the team coordinating engineering changes or new product or services launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions.
- Monitors the performance of suppliers and vendor-partners, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other work teams.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, and customers.
- Proven experience managing supply chain operations.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to establish favorable terms and conditions with suppliers.
- Proficiency in using MRP systems for demand planning and inventory control.
- Experience in all facets of the manufacturing process flow including raw material, WIP, finished goods, work orders, build of materials, assemblies and sub-assemblies etc.
- Proven experience in procurement management, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
- Management and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms.
- Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
