Director, Energy and Infrastructure Strategy
Our client, a global Real Estate Private Equity Group with $20B+ in real estate assets, is growing its global data center portfolio into the Americas and is seeking an experienced energy and utility strategist. This individual will be responsible for:
Strategic planning:
o Working with acquisitions team to align energy markets with data center acquisitions strategy
o Negotiate with and develop strategies to minimize capital costs to the business while securing commercial energy supply and distribution solutions
o Align the firms’s footprint with a marketable long term renewable and carbon neutral energy strategy
Utility market engagement:
o Utilize and develop relationships within utility industry to enable the firm to execute as efficiently as possible
o Facilitate capacity and planning with utility providers to optimize time to market and outcomes
o Work with design and development teams to quickly execute interconnection and energy supply agreements
Must Haves:
-Minimum 5 years in strategic and execution related roles with a major energy buyer (data
center, major industrial) or energy utility provider
-Deep rolodex of contacts across the energy markets, particularly in relation to generation and transmission
-Understanding of data center energy needs and relevant grid impacts
-A desire to work in a fast paced entrepreneurial environment with the depth and experience of
30+ year old investment and development firm
-Ability to travel ~50%
Nice to Haves:
-Experience in other relevant utilities, particularly network fiber
-Experience procuring renewable energy
