Position Overview:
The Senior Financial Analyst will play a pivotal role in supporting the financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis functions across the company’s diverse business units. This role will provide insights and recommendations to senior management, ensuring sound financial decisions are made to drive profitability, operational efficiency, and shareholder value. This is a highly visible position, ideal for someone with strong analytical skills and experience in the hospitality or related industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis & Reporting:
- Conduct detailed financial analysis for the company's hotel and resort operations, F&B outlets, and corporate functions.
- Analyze key financial metrics, including revenue, expenses, margins, occupancy rates, RevPAR, and GOP (Gross Operating Profit).
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management, Board of Directors, and investors.
- Assist in preparing earnings call materials and SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K).
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budget and quarterly forecast processes in collaboration with department heads and business unit leaders.
- Develop financial models to forecast revenue streams, costs, and EBITDA performance across business units.
- Identify risks and opportunities within forecasts and provide recommendations to mitigate risks or capitalize on opportunities.
Strategic Planning & Decision Support:
- Provide financial insights and support for strategic initiatives, including acquisitions, capital investments, and new market entry.
- Conduct ROI analyses for capital expenditures, new development projects, and potential M&A activity.
- Partner with operational leaders to optimize revenue management and cost controls.
Compliance & Controls:
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal controls.
- Support external audits and work with accounting teams to ensure timely and accurate financial close processes.
Ad-hoc Analysis:
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis as required, including scenario modeling, market analysis, and competitive benchmarking.
- Support executive leadership with insights for decision-making related to new business opportunities and operational improvements.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required. MBA or CFA preferred.
Experience:
- 5-7 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, or a similar role, preferably in the hospitality, real estate, or related industry.
- Experience working in a publicly traded company is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with SEC reporting requirements (10-K, 10-Q) is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including financial modeling and data analysis.
- Experience with financial planning systems (Hyperion, Anaplan, etc.) and ERP software (Oracle, SAP).
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
