Job Description:
We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Network/Systems Engineer to join our team. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our client’s complex systems infrastructure. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of their systems, while also optimizing performance and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
● Deploy and maintain the customer organization's systems infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, wireless, servers, storage, virtualization, backups, and cloud-based solutions.
● Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement necessary adjustments to ensure optimal performance and availability.
● Conduct regular network and system assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend security enhancements.
● Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure business continuity.
● Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending system upgrades or enhancements as needed.
● Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, assisting with system-related issues and inquiries.
● Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.
Requirements:
● Proven experience as a Network/Systems Engineer or in a similar role.
● Strong knowledge of systems infrastructure, including firewalls, servers, storage, virtualization, and cloud technologies.
● Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and other network technologies.
● Experience with system monitoring and diagnostic tools.
● Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows, MacOS & ChomeOS..
● Understanding of networking principles and protocols.
● Familiarity with network hardware and software, including Cisco, Auba, Extreme, Ruckus and Fortinet.
● Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
● Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
● Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or JNCIA are a plus.
● Relevant certifications such as MCSE or RHCE are a plus.
Other:
● This position requires a hybrid of in office, remote, and travel around the state of Minnesota.
● General hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Although rare, some night and weekend work may be required.
