Must Haves:
- 10+ years of estimating experience with similar plant projects (Multi Discipline Scope Projects $50,000 - $2,000,000)
- Oil & Gas/Petrochemical industry experience
- Estimating experience to include mechanical, ISC, piping, and civil projects
- Proficient in Excel
- Strong Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (ACCE) skills
- Familiar with a wide variety of project types, estimating practices/methods, risk/contingency development, and commercial terminologies
Plusses:
- Bachelor’s or higher in engineering or business
- 10 years in a similar lead estimating role in an Owner/Operator environment with multiple projects over $10MM
- SAP experience within project/budget costs oversight/management
- AACE Membership and CEP certification
- PMP Certification
- Contingency/Risk/Mitigation and/or monte-carlo type software experiences
Day-to-Day: A petrochemical plant in Baytown, TX is seeking a Sr. Cost Estimator to join their team. This individual will be responsible for developing Phase/FEL 1 (Concept) through Phase/FEL 3 (Definitive) Estimates and Estimate Basis’s for Site Capital/Expense Construction Projects. They will be maintaining/building/improving past project estimate database, metrics, tools, processes, evaluating contractor & vendor quotes, reading/evaluating/performing take-offs on typical plant engineering deliverables drawings, data, MTO’s etc. to develop estimate specs/quantities. This individual will be reading/evaluating typical plant project schedules to develop estimate costs, communicating cost/schedule concerns as they arise through correct channels, coordinating projects estimate kick-offs/walk-downs/quote reviews, completing estimate final reviews with project teams/construction groups/turn-around groups, and completing change order estimates. They may also assist project controls with project budget (WBS) developments, work with site/corporate/contractor/historical resources to develop/analyze time, material, and manpower requirements. They will need to stay up to date on current & future forecasts for: labor resource availabilities, labor market rates, material & equipment, and assist with Leadership/Oversee/Review/Train other site estimators.
