Our Chicago based Food Manufacturer is looking for a Quality Manager to add to their team. This position is responsible for supervising, coaching and mentoring the QA staff and for providing direction through ongoing performance feedback. Someone with a USDA and SQF background would be ideal.
Responsibilities & Duties:
• Responsible for all regulatory inspections, internal, and external Quality audits.
• Supervise all aspects of product quality and food safety throughout company to meet FSMA and GFSI requirements such as HACCP, and yearly SQF certifications.
• Responsible for reviewing and analyze data gathered such as necessary allergen, ATP testing etc.
• Validate sound record keeping of production and QC data including daily production logs, batch log, raw material and finished product QC testing, and necessary external lab testing.
• Stimulate and cultivate a "food safety culture” throughout the facility, and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
Qualification:
• 3-5 plus years college degree or equivalent relevant work experience required.
• Food safety certifications – SQF Practitioner, HACCP, and PCQI required.
• Ability to focus and prioritize duties in a rapid changing and high demanding environment.
• Must be detailed oriented and computer savvy, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to work variable hours, depending on business needs, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
• Must be able to work in refrigerated rooms, in wet production environments, in noisy environments, and work in proximity to moving equipment.
