An Insurance Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing and administering employee insurance benefits. This position involves a combination of administrative, customer service, and analytical tasks related to employee benefits and insurance plans. The position reports to the VP of Human Resources.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee the enrollment, renewal, and termination process for employees with insurance and their benefits.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, insurance contracts and legal regulations.
- Coordinate the open enrollment period and assist employees as needed.
- Process invoices for health, life, disability, and supplemental insurance.
- Administer COBRA policies and procedures
- Manage missed insurance premiums in the form of letters, collecting payment, setting up deductions, and clearing balances
- Resolve issues with billing or claims directly with doctor’s offices and hospitals.
- Set up Medical Support Orders for employees required to cover court ordered dependents.
- Review and process monthly billing for all polices.
- Collect and process all disability, life, and supplemental insurance claims.
- Gather information needed regarding employees/complaints to help resolve matters and communicate with employees over the phone regarding these complaints.
- Put together and mail Max Age Dependent Letters.
- Manage employees on FMLA or Rouses leave per policy.
- Assist employees with 401k matters
- Process separation notices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
5+ years of human resources generalist experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration preferred
Proficient in MS Office Word and Excel
Excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills
Able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
