We are currently seeking to add a Retirement Plan Consultant to our growing team. Our ideal candidate must be able to proficiently perform all listed primary responsibilities on day 1 (from census review to computing employer contributions and preparing and delivering Form 5500’s and all applicable schedules to Plan Sponsors). This role requires constant interfacing with Plan Sponsors and Financial Advisors via email and over the phone on plan designs and outcomes.

What you will do:
- Preparation and review of annual reporting and use of judgement required on qualified defined
contribution and/or defined benefit plans for review including:
o Review and Interpret the plan document specifications;
o Prepare optimum annual contribution allocations/outcomes;
o Review reconciled trust accounts for trustee directed accounts;
o Perform non-discrimination testing (combined plan where applicable);
o Calculate maximum benefits (415(b)) as needed;
o Prepare IRS Forms 5330, and 5500 and all applicable schedules including schedules for
audited plans;
o Work closely with CPA’s for audited large plan filers; and
o Identify highly compensated and key employees and assure minimum allocations to
non-highly compensated and non-key employees are met.
o Utilize and maintain database fields tracking plan provisions, contact info, receipt of
client data, and updated client information;
o Consult with clients regarding plan terminations;
o Review draft amendments and plan documents
- Communicate with client, accountant, attorney and investment advisor on plan related
issues. Develop relationships with clients to establish long-term working relationships;
- Maintain responsibility of client caseload management;
- Track data received and not received and follow up with related parties to receive data;
- Review of participant disclosures and notifications;
What you need to have:
- A High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred;
- Professional designation (such as ASPPA, NIPA) required (example QKA, QPA, CPC, APA, EA, ERPA);
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in third party administration
- Defined contribution plan administration and/or o Defined benefit plan administration
Compensation:
The base annual salary range for this role is $75,000 to $85,000, plus a competitive performance-based bonus. Base annual salary depends on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location. Base annual salary may also differ significantly due to geography and cost of labor considerations.
