Zing Recruiting is seeking a talented Facilities Management Consultant to join our valued client in Fairfax, Virginia.
Facilities Management Consultant Job Summary
Contract 1-2 years+
Pay: $40-60/hr.
- Oversee maintenance, repair, and infrastructure upgrades for over 225 commercial-owned and leased facilities.
- Manage utilities, space planning, renovations, energy conservation, custodial services, and ground maintenance.
- Coordinate leasing, management, and disposal of real property as requested by the Board of Supervisors and other agencies.
- Develop and implement project plans, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.
- Review and approve building plans, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
- Negotiate bids and manage contracts with contractors and vendors.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure facilities meet safety and operational standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize facility needs and improvements.
- Prepare and present reports on project status, budget, and performance to senior management and County agencies.
Facilities Management Consultant Qualifications:
- Expertise in commercial buildings and systems, including electrical, plumbing, elevators, and HVAC.
- Experience with fire alarms, fire suppression, backup generators, and emergency lighting.
- Construction/Commercial Experience: Proven ability to manage projects from start to finish, including writing Invitations to Bid (ITBs), with 80% of contracts and vendors already in place.
- Demonstrated experience in reviewing building plans, with a mandatory assessment to verify competency.
- Ability to work independently and manage projects with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with the public, contractors, and elected officials.
- Experience as a superintendent in the private sector is applicable, with flexibility on specific project management experience but a requirement for commercial experience.
