JOB SUMMARY:
Plans and conducts activities concerned with the quality control and quality assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of the assigned product or component
- Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data
- Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities
- Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records
- Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes
- Conducts and performs GRR and capability studies
- Working understanding of ISO 9001:2015 preferred
- Develop and conduct process failure modes effects analysis (PFMEA) plans
- Experience with PPAP activities for internal and intra-company supplied parts including Component Risk Assessments, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Validation, interact with Supplier Development Engineers for purchased components.
- Documents data obtained during all quality activities consistent with company policies and procedures
- Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities
- Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and provides recommended process improvements to management
- Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality activities
- Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management
- Directs technical and administrative workers engaged in quality activities
- Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is highly desired
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:
- Ability to speak effectively in interpersonal situations and before groups of employees comprised of various levels of personnel, from senior executives to facility personnel
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Strong leadership and influencing skills
- Strong understanding of lean process methodologies
- Intermediate level of computer skills in SAP and MS Office software (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
- ASQ-CQE Certification Preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Candidate will be required to work in an industrial environment, which may contain hazards such as: loud noise (ear protection must be worn); air-borne dust, exposure to hazards (pinch points, rotating machinery, sharp edges, conveyors, etc.) and wear all required personal protective equipment.
