Job Title: Construction Superintendent
Location: Greater Madison, WI
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Superintendent to join our team at a leading general contractor in the East Madison area. The ideal candidate will oversee construction projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight: Manage all aspects of construction projects, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and labor.
- Site Management: Conduct daily site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and project specifications.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor construction crews and subcontractors, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Quality Control: Implement quality assurance protocols and ensure all work meets industry standards and client expectations.
- Budget Management: Monitor project budgets and expenditures, providing regular updates to upper management and making recommendations for cost-saving measures.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure clear communication and resolve any issues that arise.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate project records, including daily logs, change orders, and inspection reports.
- Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce safety practices on the job site, ensuring all team members adhere to safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction supervision or project management, preferably with a general contractor.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Certifications: OSHA 30-hour certification and any relevant industry certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED) are a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work on construction sites, including standing for long periods, lifting heavy materials, and working in various weather conditions.
