Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Telemetry Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights; includes 4 weekend shifts in 4-week schedule; first to float, possible float to sister facility Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a cardiac telemetry setting License: Active RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Strong cardiac telemetry background with experience in titrating cardiac drips per physician's orders Job Description: - Pass a dysrhythmia exam before starting (via RELIAS, with a maximum of 2 attempts). - Participate in a PASS/FAIL SIM LAB on the first day of orientation (study guides provided). - Manage ED holds waiting for unit placement, primarily focusing on medical/surgical telemetry - Responsible for reading and interpreting monitor strips; no monitor tech available in the ED. - Titrate drips including Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone. - Support ED staff by assisting with vitals, IV starts, and medication administration. - Perform duties in a setting without ventilators. - Float to medical/surgical/telemetry/overflow units as needed. - Wear navy scrubs as part of the dress code. - Undergo 2 shifts of orientation specific to the primary campus. - Follow the facility's cancellation policy which allows up to 3 cancellations per contract. - Use Cerner charting system. - Participate in rotating holiday requirements with permanent staff. - Self-scheduling is allowed, though this may change. - No call or standby requirement.
