Job Summary:
We are seeking a diligent and proactive Safety Coordinator to join our team. The Safety Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all personnel on our construction sites. This individual will work closely with our Safety Director, project managers, site supervisors, and workers to implement and monitor safety protocols, conduct inspections, and promote a culture of safety across all operations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations as well as company standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with project teams to address safety concerns and provide guidance on best practices.
- Coordinate and conduct safety training programs for employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for preventive action.
- Maintain safety records, including inspection reports, training documentation, and incident logs.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to safety.
- Participate in safety meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of safety initiatives.
- Serve as a resource for employees regarding safety-related questions and concerns.
- Keep up to date with changes in MSHA regulations and communicate updates to employees.
- Assist with OSHA/MSHA inspections and ensure all regulatory requirements are met
Experience:
- Proven experience as a safety coordinator or similar role in heavy civil construction.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA/MSHA regulations and safety standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage others in safety initiatives.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (OSHA Insturctor, OSHA 30) or Certified MSHA Blue card Instructor Surface or related field is a plus
- Ability to travel to various job sites as required.

Pay: $66,846.00 - $70,746.00 per year
