JOB SUMMARY:
The Project Manager role with Imerys will be responsible for industrial projects by organizing and controlling project elements in support of the engineering strategy. In addition, the role will provide the necessary technical evaluations and quantification of project variables to assure successful operation of completed installations.
This role is based in Lompoc, Central Coast of California.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Mentor other Engineers in the Team to help elevate the team to the next level
● Develop testing processes, and perform testing and validation of new designs
● Generate working prototypes for beta testing and customer demonstration
● Perform engineering calculations to support design work
● Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software
● Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering maintenance and operations teams, and work with vendors and contractors
● Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process
● Ensure project timeline is met and project stays within budget
● Have familiarity with Project management and tools
● Ensuring each project stays within the allocated budget and timeframe
● Scheduling meetings and updating status regularly
● Help maintaining Capital project approval process from start to finish developing and maintaining the budget
● Update management on forecasting and reporting on capital spend
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules and regulations.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
● Bachelor's Degree - Construction Management,r Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering
● Project Management Certification ideal, but not required
● 5+ years of experience working in engineering projects for heavy process industry, as well as experience with solid handling (conveyors, piping, etc.)
● Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience in designing mechanical and electromechanical systems and products
● Ability to clearly communicate concepts and ideas
● Strong leadership, organizational and time management skills
● Positive attitude and willingness to work long hours to finish targets
● Excellent math skills: ability to apply advanced mathematical principles and statistics to solve problems
● Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, 3D and 2D modeling tools or similar
● Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability
● Knowledge of procurement and engineering equipment and construction contracts, ideal

Base salary range: $100,000 - $165,000 DOE
