PVH is seeking an experienced Geotechnical / Foundation Engineer to join our technical group in supporting US-based utility solar projects. The primary mission of this role is to provide the most cost-efficient designs for tracker foundation systems, while maintaining the highest quality standards.
PVH - PVHardware is a provider of innovative solar tracking solutions for the global utility-scale solar market, including trackers, fixed structures and SCADA system. Yet, we are the third largest solar tracker supplier in the world and aiming to be the leader in the industry!
Responsibilities:
- Generate, review, and stamp (if PE) tracker foundation design packages for US-based projects.
- Review, understand, and analyze geotechnical reports.
- Design piles for solar racking - trackers and fixed tilt systems.
- Prepare pre- and post-construction pile load testing plans.
- Remediate pile refusal as needed.
- Work with 3rd party professional engineering firms as necessary to complete project requirements.
- Provide technical and engineering customer support, both internal and external.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in civil, structural, or geotechnical engineering; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of geotechnical and/or foundation design experience.
- English fluency required; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
Experience:
The ideal candidate will have familiarity and working knowledge of:
- Foundations design experience using LPILE software.
- Soil corrosion analysis.
- FHWA, DIN 50929, AS2159.
- Eurocode, ASIC, ASCE, and IBC.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel.
Desired knowledge and skills:
- Solar experience.
- Ground screws and helical pile design.
- Cold and hot rolled steel component design, US and Euro standards.
- PE license/EIT preferred.
- AutoCAD 3D.
- UL 3703/2703.
- Construction experience.
