Weekly Pay Range - $2167 To $2408 Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Medical Surgical Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights, Every Other Weekend, First to Float Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Yes Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Cerner experience, no first-time travelers Job Description: - Pre-screening by Clinical Team required. - Medical Surgical unit with a focus on general Med/Surg patients. - 30-bed unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1 for both days and nights. - Requires basic arrhythmia skills and knowledge; no primary cardiac diagnoses. - Patients include those with pneumonia, diabetes, COPD, infections, cellulitis, MRSA, isolation, and more. - Use of pagers linked to call light system and internal spectra link phones. - Orientation may include shifts in other units. - Charge nurse available; they do not take patients but help staff nurses. - Breaks include a 30-minute clocked-out break and three 15-minute breaks per shift. - Every other weekend scheduling: Day Shift is Saturday/Sunday; Night Shift is Friday/Saturday. - Uniform: Navy blue scrubs and, if worn, scrub jackets must be navy. Under-shirts can be navy, white, or black. - Remote telemetry monitoring shared with another unit; basic arrhythmia skills expected. - No assistance available for hard IV sticks from ICU or ER. - 24/7 RT and Pharmacy support available, utilizing Omnicell for medication management. - Floating policy: MedSurg nurses handle only MedSurg patients. - Charting system: Cerner. - Hospital may cancel up to three times per contract; cancellations can be a full or partial shift. This role requires adaptability and a willingness to float among units where necessary, with a focus on delivering high-quality care to a diverse patient population.
