Position / Group description:
The Risk Management Technology group provides support to global Risk Management in the areas of technology and information processing for measuring, quantifying, analyzing, controlling, and reporting Risk exposures for traded securities products.
The position is for a Senior developer who will be part of Technology team supporting the Global Risk Management Technology group. The work assignments will include playing a key developer role in major project related work. Projects will include custom development, implementation and integration of vendor products, and enhancement/support of existing on-premise and cloud based systems.
The Role will involve designing, developing, enhancing, testing, and implementation of scalable, reliable, performant and secure microservices, APIs, and related system components by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting issues and resolving production problems along with supporting users by developing documentation and assistance tools.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work as a senior analyst Developer in Risk management Technology.
- Work closely with business analysts/project managers/other developers/stakeholders to implement business requirements utilizing various programming disciplines on Linux / Microsoft based platforms including OO, scripting and SQL based development.
- Perform initial tests to cover functional and non-functional requirements before users do their UAT.
- Verify implementation, perform functional testing, and deliver the system/module in production.
Essential Experience/ Skills:
- Strong Java or Python knowledge and 8+ years of relevant experience of developing applications.
- Good understanding of APIs best practices and modular object-oriented design and development.
- Hands-on AWS implementation experience across a broad range of AWS services.
- Must have in depth AWS development experience (Containerization - Docker, Amazon EKS, Lambda, EC2, S3)
- Experience of using GIT based source control repository and tools such as Bitbucket and SourceTree.
- Experience of using Jira for full development cycle (requirement to deployment).
- Experience in developing components and services which can handle large data volumes.
- Experience and knowledge of SDLC methodologies and development processes such as requirement gathering, analysis and definition, prototyping, proof of concept, designing and implementation
- Strong SQL skills and experience on Oracle or other RDBMS platforms
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics
Preferred:
- Experience in the financial services industry, preferably with exposure to market risk or counterparty credit risk applications
- Knowledge of market risk domain like VaR, PnL vectors, various methods to calculate portfolio VaR, sensitivities etc.
- Experience in ETL (extract, transform and Load) development

The salary range for this role is $150,000-$225,000
