Plant Manager

Plant Manager Responsibilities
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to meet production requirements and enhance the organization's competitive position.
- Provide expert leadership in the technical aspects of manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Achieve manufacturing excellence by employing industry-standard improvement techniques, maintaining operational initiatives, and ensuring accountability to meet targets.
- Anticipate and resolve production constraints through proactive corrective actions.
- Collaborate with purchasing specialists to optimize supply chain resources and stay abreast of market developments.
- Establish and meet short and long-term operational objectives to improve margins.
- Foster a continuous improvement culture using Lean methodologies to ensure sustainable processes, engaged workforce, and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare and manage operating and cash flow budgets, conduct gap analyses, and implement resolution measures.
- Uphold and enhance safety and loss control programs aligning with the organization's cultural values.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental policies and regulations.
- Engage with Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams to strategize on new product development.
- Lead recruiting, hiring, and training efforts to build effective and diverse teams.
- Promote positive employee relations and a culture of trust and confidence across the organization.
Plant Manager Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Applied Science, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
- 5–7 years of experience in a durable manufacturing environment, with at least 1–3 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Demonstrated experience in managing plant operations with P&L responsibility, preferably in a heavy equipment manufacturing setting.
- Proficient in ERP systems; JD Edwards experience is a plus.
- Strong leadership skills with an ability to inspire and engage others.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to use MS Office and other analytics software tools effectively.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement practices and Lean manufacturing.
- Flexibility for limited travel (5-10%, including international travel).
- Ability to work full-time on-site and accommodate occasional weekends and overtime as needed.
